About Shannon

A different kind of conversation

I’m Shannon Fox, a BACP-registered counsellor supporting people through some of life’s most difficult moments.

My work is grounded in a person-centred approach, which means I will meet you with empathy, kindness, and without judgement, while supporting you to explore whatever has brought you to therapy. You may come with clear goals in mind, or simply a sense that something does not feel quite right, and we will check in along the way to make sure you are getting what you need from our sessions. Alongside this, I also draw on psychodynamic theory, exploring how past experiences, relationships, and upbringing may be shaping how you feel in the present. By gently building understanding and awareness together, we can work towards the changes you want to make in your life.

I work online with adults and specialise in working with bereavement and grief, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and breakdowns, anxiety, and depression.

What clients say

Real experiences

I was sceptical of the counselling as I’ve had a bad experience before. But talking to Shannon, she put me at ease and we gelled quickly. I have had my last session today and am a feeling stronger. She was extremely kind and thoughtful and helped me with my grief.

I’ve had six sessions, and I can honestly say it has been pivotal in keeping myself sane through some dark times with challenges at home. A completely safe and non-judgemental place to say how I feel and to be heard. Some practical tips on things I could do for my wellbeing, a great counselling style where I came up with my own answers to problem areas and the reassurance that I can be resilient even when it feels too much.

I was initially very reluctant to speak with a bereavement counsellor, but I’m so grateful that I took that first step and found Shannon. From the beginning, she was compassionate, professional, and incredibly easy to talk to. She created a safe, welcoming space where I felt truly heard and understood. What really stood out was her ability to strike the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine warmth. I never felt judged or rushed – just supported. I can’t thank her enough for her support and would highly recommend her services to anyone going through loss.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for everything over the past sessions: the support and tools you have provided me. I am incredibly grateful you were my counsellor! Our sessions, and all the aids you have provided has genuinely made a big difference, and I’ll carry what I’ve learnt with me going forward. I won’t hesitate to reach out in the future if I need to.
